Haiku Challenge
With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching, I decided to post Haiku Challenge number five a day early since we'll be traveling this week. Looking forward to our annual Thanksgiving trip to my sister's.
I painted this just for you blog friends, so make your haikus good. Harsh jousting at Mr. Turkey who was created using Paint's paint brush is definitely fair game (ha!).
Using only the picture above for your inspiration, post your haiku by Thursday, November 23, at 5:00 pm Eastern. An extra day for all who are traveling and expressing thanks with family and friends.

If you're new to Haiku read on...
Haiku is a poetic form and a type of poetry from the Japanese culture. Haiku combines form, content, and language in a meaningful, yet compact form. Haiku poets, which you will soon be, write about everyday things. Many themes include nature, feelings, or experiences. Usually they use simple words and grammar. The most common form for Haiku is three short lines. The first line usually contains five (5) syllables, the second line seven (7) syllables, and the third line contains five (5) syllables. Haiku doesn't rhyme. A Haiku must "paint" a mental image in the reader's mind. This is the challenge of Haiku - to put the poem's meaning and imagery in the reader's mind in only 17 syllables over just three (3) lines of poetry!

Hi Bee-it's time for word game at my place...I posted a bit early too because of the holiday.
just stopped over. loved the vegetarian story. though i do like eating meat i can pass on the handling and cooking of the turkey. i opted for the free ham with my grocery store purchase this time...it's not raw and you can't get sick from handling it. blech!
