New Bike?
My plan is to get my new bike today. That is the plan at least. I've been saying this for months. I'm posting this to hold myself accountable to actually go and do it. Making large purchase decisions is very difficult for me. I think it's about committing, and the fear of regretting.

You could get one of those spacey looking egan-bikes! Though I bet they are even 'spensiver than a non-spacey-looking one... I know what you mean about the hesitation, its freaky using up precious resources, even when you know its for something worthwhile. Be brave!
oh yeah -- that's the big bucks! i only have the little bucks to spend, plus i'm just a beginner. i was brave...really, i was. i was gonna buy it today. thanks for the encouragement jake!
My bike was purchased used for $1000. If you can find a new road bike you like for around that price, you're doing well. Bikes aren't cheap. I mid range triathlon bike costs $1500 - $3000. I bought my first new road bike for $900. It's all about the components.
exactly! and this is why it's taken me so long! I really want 105s -- at least. but to get 105s i have to spend more than i want to spend. but the OCR1 is a 2006 with all 105s, carbon fork, seat post...it's a beauty! it's on a huge sale and in my budget. now i just need my friend Dennis to find the XS!
Awesome. Those are pretty good components. I have the same things, minus the carbon fork, on my K2 road bike. I've had very few problems with them. I can't wait to see pictures of it once you buy it.
yay! cross your fingers for me. i do have to say though that it's not my colors of choice (the OCR1). but if everything else works, i really don't care.
good to know the 105s have done you well.
