Oi, the Noive!

After work today I treated myself to a manicure. This was much needed after three days of sitting in training class. I picked my cuticles, nibbled on my hands, and ugh, just made a mess of my nails.

So here's the question bloggers:

What did the woman at the salon ask me?

The answer is here on my blog and the title of this post is a clue. If you've been visiting all along, you may know. If you've joined in recently, you may have some hunting to do.

Get a Clue (update 3.16.07)

Here are two clues to point you in the right direction.

1. The title of this post is a clue that will help you find the answer to my question somewhere here on my blog. (The title is not a clue to the answer itself)

2. This is something I get asked every time I go to a nail salon.

Update 3.17.07

You can find the answer here.

moni - you certainly have an excellent point here, my friend. she was a chinese lady though, so i think her german would be suffering as well ;-) love you!!!

"are those real?"

"how much did those set you back?"

"what made you choose that color?"

"are those Lee Press On Nails?"

Orb - hilarysterical you are! but c'mon now, friend. check out the clues. you must peruse my site for the answer.

Orb? Shit, I liked Cervelo more. And it's The Orb. Okay fine, make me work for it. I will try to find it then.

"salon perm"?

Becky said...

egan - The Orb, yes I know. but it seemed more fitting to refer to a person as "Orb" rather than "The Orb". if folks don't want to play, totally cool by me. i'll share the answer.

I've never had my nails done. I'm running late today.

Happy St Paddy's!

I'm trying to figure it out. I even did an internet search for the title of the post and it brought me right back here. One more clue please.....

-The Orb

katie - thanks! you too. getting my nails done is a real treat. mostly it helps prevent me from biting on my cuticles. it's a bad habit. my nails are short and i don't get the fake ones or anything.

cannondale - i provided an update with the link to the previous post.

right now Peanut is playing wildly and chirping with all his might. it's quite a funny site.

lol.. too funny!

I wax my eyebrows myself when I can!
( although waxing at the y is painful, eyebrows are a piece of cake! )

ha ha at cannondale - I buy their sports bras! Fabulous product!

ok.. I'm going again! Cheers! :)

katie - you are TOO funny about the Y. Ugh, never done it. I have actually gotten my eyebrows waxed, but can't seem to get the waxer to leave most of my brow intact. they always want to leave just a pencil line of hair. it really doesn't look right on me.

as for the at home waxing...upper lip all the way baby!

cannondale is a great product. my sis has their bike and loves it! i'll have to check out their sports bras. cheers to you too!

speaking of bikes, i'm gonna hop on mine!

You know when I wax my eyebrows I cut the paper in the shape I want. 2 for each eyebrow so I can clean up the bottom and top. I need to buy some more wax actually. My favorite has been Sally Hanson? Anyway... it worked really well.

Sometimes Amazon has the Cannondale bras on sale. Usually the color is black although they have had other colours. I like black so I prefer that colour over pale yellow which is what they offered last time.

I hope your bike ride was fabulous!

Funny how I'm called Cannondale and it sparks a chat about bras you can find on Amazon. I love it.

Do you have Mr. Scorcesee eyebrows? Give Peanut my best woman.

katie - sounds like you've got it down to a science! i actually use the sally hansen wax strips. avoids the mess of the actual wax and after trying both, they work better for me. one time i bought the wax kit with the white paper strips. there weren't nearly enough paper strips as compared to the wax and so i wrote dear sally an email. believe it or not, she sent me a whole bunch of paper strips! what a fine lady ;-)

i will have to check out amazon for the bras -- good tip.

and ugh. no bike ride. i have been extrememly tired lately, so i gave into it yesterday and took a nap.

cervelo - yes it is funny how topics get all convoluted :)

Candace shared my exact eyebrow description in my original eyebrow post. brook shields all the way. thick, dark, but definitely NOT scorcesee.

Hey there! I think you're right. We could be writing each other's posts. I love your headache one. I had that conversation with my head last night.

I have very thick eyebrows as well. But I do wax. Because I started young and now I have to keep them up in fear of looking like Eugene Levy. It sucks and I hate it. Don't ever give in. Don't do it! Same thing goes for lip hair. I waxed it a long time ago when it was hardly visible. Now I have to do it all the time otherwise I'll look like Magnum PI. Or so I like to tell my husband.

I'm so sorry to hear about your ongoing headache! I just got your comment, I've been having a bad one too this past week and a half... it might be a good idea to see a doctor, it might not be serious, and I don't know what your history is with these things, but it's always good to be careful.

I hope you feel better soon. I'm sure once it gets warm enough and you can bike, everything will be heavenly :)

Arm - your story is my story sister! I pluck some places and wax others. It's not so much the waxing of the eyebrows that I don't like (or wouldn't do), rather the audacity of a salon employee to assume that because I have thick, dark brows that I want to do away with them (cuz they usually rip half of it off!). I know, truly, I know.

Seb - thanks so much for the warm thoughts and encouragement! I too hope you're feeling better. I think I may have to go see the doc. this one just won't give in or give up, despite two excederin migraine and two advil today. Oi!
